The BAM Fellows Program is a 12-month artist-leadership fellowship designed for Black artists committed to deepening their leadership with clarity, integrity, and care.
The fellowship brings together established artist-leaders and a small number of emerging artists to cultivate mentorship, lineage, and collective responsibility.

Black Arts Movement Houston was born from the belief that artists deserve more than opportunity they deserve infrastructure, care, and collective power.
Rooted in Houston’s Black cultural ecosystem, BAM emerged as a response to the need for spaces where artists could lead without fragmentation, competition, or extraction.

Spotlight: From Houston to Harlem & Beyond
Ashley Mayeux began her dance training at the High School for Performing and Visual Arts and graduated cum laude with a BFA from SUNY Purchase. Mayeux continued her studies at Dance Theatre of Harlem and went on to perform in the tour of the Broadway musical Aida.
Spotlight: Get to Know the phillip hall singers
The Phillip Hall Singers is a 501 (c) (3) nonprofit organization dedicated to the musical and social enrichment of the greater Houston area. With dynamic young conductor, Charles Harrison, and talented singers, Mr. Hall looks to introduce repertoire from various traditions, eras and cultures.
